Vitamin C is the most prominent antioxidant in our skin. Due to the fact that we as humans lack the enzyme enabling us to synthesise Vitamin C from diet alone, we should supplement our skin with topical applications.

Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is efficient at absorption into the dermal fibroblasts. Studies have shown that the intake of L-Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C) into the skin after the application of Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is considerably higher than the application of L-Ascorbic Acid by itself (in-vitro). This is further boosted with the addition of Tetrahydropiperine used by La Clinica to increase permeability and bioavailability of the active ingredients.
